Vancouver Fishing November Report

Well Fall 2018 has had some highlights and some lowlights, some great fishing and some slow fishing. Overall it’s been good, but some heavy rains in October played a bit of havoc on our Fall salmon fishing. November can be an interesting month for fishing in Vancouver, so very good options, open availability, no crowds and some cool fishing, if you don’t mind a bit of cold weather!

Vancouver Fly Fishing Report November 2018

The first two weeks of November has been our best for Fall salmon fishing near Vancouver. Our trips on the Squamish River were much slower than average through October, but November has spruced right up with solid fishing for chum and coho salmon on the lower and upper sections of river.

It was too bad October was slow, as we had a ton of trips booked, and although there were some good days of fly fishing, overall it wasn’t our greatest Fall season. November fly fishing has been really good though, decent numbers of chum and coho salmon in local rivers and we’re moving into our winter trout season.

Later in November and certainly in December, we’ll start fishing egg and flesh patterns for resident bull trout in our coastal rivers. This provides some of the best trout fishing of the year, as our resident bullies are feeding on the remnants of the Fall salmon runs.  November and December availability for our Vancouver fly fishing trips is open, so have a look at our Vancouver fly fishing trips page for more info and if you’d like to book a trip please email the office chromersportfishing@gmail.com or call toll-free 1-877-902-3393 to book.

Vancouver Salmon Fishing Report November 2018

Not much to report on the Vancouver salmon fishing front, a few winter chinook (king) salmon in Howe Sound, very hit or miss though. November is generally the slowest month for our Vancouver salmon fishing charters, better off to wait until December and January if you’re looking for a more productive trip, targeting winter chinook salmon.

There will be some Winter specials this year and remember, our winter Vancouver salmon fishing trips include dropping crab and prawn traps if conditions are suitable!
