There’s lots of great places to go fishing near Vancouver. Our Vancouver salmon fishing charters leave right from the city, while our fly fishing trips will take you up to the Squamish Valley about an hour north of Vancouver. There’s also great sturgeon fishing on the Fraser River about 90 minutes east of Vancouver.
We’re pretty lucky that we have 12 months of the year. Obviously some times are better than others. Peak months for saltwater salmon fishing are mid March to late September. On our fly fishing trips the most popular dates are early March to late November but there is also winter fly fishing opportunities as well. The best months for a Vancouver sturgeon fishing trip are from April to early November.
For those of you who don’t have time to do a full-day trip we do offer two different half-day Vancouver fishing trips. Our half-day Vancouver salmon charters are super popular and a great option if you’re on a time crunch. These are really popular with people coming in on cruise ships with limited time. We also offer half-day fly fishing trips on the Squamish River. These are a fun trip for beginner anglers looks to get their feet wet and learn about fly fishing.
Yes, all our trips include all the fishing gear you’ll need for the day.
We do not include food and drinks on our Vancouver salmon charters or our Vancouver fly fishing trips. We do include lunch on our sturgeon fishing trips though. You are welcome to bring along food and drinks for any of our trips.
Of course they can! We are happy to welcome kids onboard our salmon charters and sturgeon trips. Unfortunately we can’t have kids under the age of twelve (12) on our river fishing trips. They are welcome to take part in our Vancouver fly fishing courses that we do throughout the year.
Believe it or not, we get this questions lots! Unless you find a bear who likes to swim you won’t see them on a salmon charter or a sturgeon trip. From time to time we see bears while out in the wilderness fly fishing. They’re usually way more scared of us than we are of them!
