“I’ve fished with Yos in for over 10 years now, haven’t missed a season, and am telling you, there’s not a guide out there who cares more about how a trip goes than him. Excellent service and a fantastic freindship, he has my 100% recommendation if you’re looking to go fishing in Whistler.”

Our fishing season in Whistler for 2019 is looking positive. The early Winter here in Whistler has seen an incredible amount of snow, which has been great for skiing but also is good for the rest of the year as snow levels are integral to healthy local rivers and lakes.

As we move into the Spring months, we’ll be focusing on the Squamish River system south of Whistler, where we enjoy a beautiful fishery for wild steelhead, resident rainbow trout and native bull trout. Later into May and June our trips are mainly lake trips as local river conditions aren’t optimal due to warming temperatures and melting snow.
Summer 2019 should be a blast in Whistler, we’ll have lots and lots of fishing options. To the south we’ll have Pink Salmon fishing starting in late July through to mid September. This is on the Squamish River, and we offer day trips from obviously Whistler, but also Vancouver fly fishing trips for Pink Salmon as well. There is also fishing on the Birkenhead River, north of Whistler throughout the upcoming Summer, that’s a ton of fun as well!
If you’re in Whistler during the Fall months, then there will be our Fall salmon fishery we enjoy annually on the Squamish River. All in all we are expecting another great season with our Whistler fishing program, we look forward to you being a part of it! If you’d like to fish with us in 2019 we’d love to have you. Our business is built on great service, honest advice and a crew of the best guides in town. Head to our contact page to send us an inquiry.

We’ve always prided ourselves on a unique service, bringing clients like you first class adventures and having the right gear to do it with is key.  From lightweight waders, premium fishing equipment and a lineup of new rafts to access local rivers and lakes, you can count on a 100% commitment to trip quality when you book with us.

“Had an absolutely wonderful time fly fishing with our guide Dylan in Whistler. Would highly recommend this guide service, everything about our experience was excellent!”

Our trips during the Summer months in 2019 will be focused on the Pink Salmon run of the Squamish River. This is an excellent fishery, with huge returns of fish every second year, so if you’re fishing with us this Summer you’re in luck!

Best time for a pink salmon fishing trip in Whistler is July, August & September. There’s also some great trout fishing in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton. One of our favourite little trout rivers to fish is the Birkenhead River, located in the sunny Pemberton Valley, just north of Whistler. This mountain stream is home to some of the area’s biggest wild rainbow trout. The Birkenhead is a friendly river, offering easy wading, hiking and casting, perfect for all abilities.
The Fall months are an exciting time for fishing in Whistler. This is when you can swing flies for big migrating salmon as they return from the saltwater into the rivers of BC’s south coast. The Squamish River system, south of Whistler, generally has its best fishing for chum and coho salmon is mid October to late November.

If you’re coming to Whistler for a ski vacation and want to get some fishing in then we definitely have some awesome winter fishing options for you (and no it’s not ice fishing!). Our trips from December to March focus on the rivers south of Whistler, where snow, cold and ice are minimal to none and that offer solid fishing for wild trout and steelhead. Our guides will pick you up and have all the warm gear ready for a day on the river. You’ll fish wild rivers that see very little angler pressure, targeting mainly resident bull trout, a type of char, and there is also the opportunity to fish for steelhead in the winter and spring months.

March & April are often our best two months on the Squamish River system south of Whistler. Our full day trips will get you into this wild coastal valley and swinging flies for big bull trout, wild rainbows and sea-run steelhead. This is an excellent time to book a trip, with great fishing and consistent river levels. As we move into May and and early June our focus shifts to fishing Whistler’s many alpine lakes. River levels tend to rise quickly during this time of year and lake fishing is a much better option. Local lakes are home to rainbow and cutthroat trout. We utilize belly boats and rafts to fish these lakes, some as close as five minutes driving time from Whistler Village.
