13 Nov November Vancouver Fishing Report

VANCOUVER FLY FISHING NOVEMBER & EARLY WINTER

We haven’t had the biggest chum run on local rivers but the fishing has been pretty good nonetheless with plenty of hard pulling fish each trip. As I write this on November 13th, there’s solid numbers of chum salmon on the lower Squamish River and decent good coho fishing on the upper stretches. Every trip we seem to be putting our clients into multiple fish, sometimes we have to work a bit harder for them. There has been some solid trout fishing for bull trout, that will only continue as we move into the winter months.

The trout have been eating mostly flesh and streamer patterns. We’ve been doing the egg thing a bit but it hasn’t proven as effective. Much nicer getting fish on the swing anyways!

VANCOUVER SALMON FISHING NOVEMBER & EARLY WINTER

November isn’t generally a time there’s much focus on the saltwater salmon fishing scene here in Vancouver. With the relatively nice weather we’ve enjoyed so far in November there’s certainly been more opportunity to take to the water.

There has been a few winter chinook (king) salmon around on the charters we’ve done in November. As we move into December and then early season 2018 this winter chinook fishery will be the staple of our Vancouver salmon fishing charters. Obviously weather dependant but if you get a nice day there can be some beautiful scenery and fun fishing to be had.

BC STURGEON FISHING NOVEMBER & EARLY WINTER

Sturgeon fishing has been absolutely bonkers this Fall, excellent fishing on every trip we’ve done with lots and lots of big fish too!

November on our Fraser Canyon Trips has yielded plenty of larger fish, 6+ feet being the norm, which is pretty crazy. Often people don’t think of doing a BC sturgeon fishing trip in November but we definitely have some pretty awesome fishing.
